Relief Rehabilitation Counsellor

Position Description:

Relief Front-line workers to support individuals with acquired brain injury  

Qualifications:

  • Have a degree or diploma in human services from an accredited college or university.
  • Be willing and able to work a variety of shifts including overnights, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Have adequate availability to accept shifts on short notice.
  • Functionally capable of supporting individuals with physical/mobility challenges.
  • Be capable of providing direct support to individuals with a range of services including functional independence training, activities of daily living, personal care.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers, mobile devices, standard business and productivity software (i.e. – Microsoft Office).
  • Valid class “G” Driver’s License, clean driving record, ability to drive agency minivan.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.

Ideally, candidates may also have:

  • Prior experience in community based human service delivery.
  • Functional awareness of acquired brain injury.
  • Prior training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
